Torres Vedras is a Portuguese municipality in the district of Lisbon, approximately 50 km north of the capital, in the western part of Região Centro. It covers an area of 407 km2 and has 83,130 inhabitants.
Its City Council is a local public body, with more than 1000 employees, whose mission is to define strategies and guidelines for the sustainable development of its territory, promoting the quality of life of its citizens, through the implementation of measures and programmes, in dialogue with various local, national and international actors.
