Silla is a Spanish municipality of 18,979 inhabitants located in the autonomous community of Valencia.
Located in the southern part of the province, near the area of the Albufera de Valencia, Silla enjoys a Mediterranean climate. The name Silla comes from the contraction of “sa illa”, in Spanish “la isla” (the island), a name given by the early inhabitants of the area since the municipality was located on an isthmus on the Albufera.
To the west of the town of Silla flows the Acequia Real, an irrigation system that supplies water to the fields of the region, while the entire eastern part of the municipality is occupied by rice fields and the Albufera Natural Park.
