Ovar Municipality is located north of the district (Aveiro), at an approximately distance of 40 km. lt is 40 km from Oporto, 88 km from Coimbra and 282 km from Lisbon.
Ovar is also part of the lntermunicipal Community of the Region of Aveiro. lt has an extension of 147.5 km2, divided into 5 parishes, with a total of 54,953 inhabitants and a total of 20,919households, of which 1,414 have 5 or more elements.
Ovar Municipality has assumed local policies and measures to support families in the areas of social development, habitation, health, education, environment, sport, culture and leisure, among others, aimed to improve the quality of life of citizens and territorial cohesion.
