The Municipality of Mealhada belongs to the district of Aveiro, in the province of Beira Litoral, with an area of 110.7 km² and about 20 thousand inhabitants.
The municipality of Mealhada is divided into 6 parishes: Barcouço, Casal Comba, Luso, Pampilhosa, Vacariça and Union of Parishes of Mealhada, Ventosa do Bairro and Antes. This is a territory with a strong tourist aspect and it is known, nationally and internationally, for the Spas of Luso, Bussaco National Forest and the Gastronomy.
Mealhada roast suckling pig is one of the products of the 4 Wonders of Mealhada and is the ex-libris of the locality, joining water (from Luso), wine (from Bairrada) and bread (from Mealhada).
