The municipality of Loulé is located in the south of mainland Portugal, in the Algarve region. It has an area of approximately 764.39 km² and 72 373 inhabitants, making it the largest municipality in the region by both area and population. It has an average population density of 94,7 people per sq. km, in line with the population density of the region (93,5 people per sq. Km). Loulé has the highest number of immigrants in the Algarve (18 707) with 118 diferent nationalities.
