Cerete is a town of 1600 inhabitants located in Val Borlezza with a

an altitude that ranges from 407 meters of the Borlezza course to 1,419 of the Lusù peak, the highest peak in the municipal area.

The town is divided into three hamlets: Cerete Alto, Cerete Basso and Novezio.

Archaeological evidence tells us about the human presence already in prehistoric times: pottery from the Iron Age (in the Gavazzo area), graffiti from the still unspecified (in the locality of Cedrini) and a block of obsidian which allows us to hypothesize that it wasfrequented even in the Neolithic period (in the locality of Cedrini).

Today the territory jealously preserves both the finds and the traditions handed down from generation to generation within a large cultural container that is the Val BorlezzaEcomuseum.

Every corner of the area tells a piece of our history, from the murals, to the rural buildings, to the ancient mills still functioning today, to the churches and the Sanctuary full of works of art of great value …

There are numerous paths in the green that allow you to experience Cerete immersingyourself in the luxuriant nature rich in characteristic elements.

Local associations are very active and offer residents and visitors numerous opportunitiesfor meeting and entertainment.

Cerete is located a stone’s throw from both Lake Iseo and the Presolana and Monte Pora ski slopes, which is why it is a destination for tourists and outdoor sports enthusiasts in allseasons.
