
A characteristic mountain locality and resort in the Upper Val Rendena, non far from Madonna di Campiglio, in the heart of the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park.
The village of Carisolo, located at the entrance of Val Genova, well.known for its many waterfalls including the Cascate Nardis, extends from the foot of the Cima Lancia to the plain between the rivers Sarca di Genova and Sarca di Campiglio. Its naturally sunny and sheltered positin, the perfect altitude of 808 m. a s.l. and the charming and varied scenery make Carisolo the ideal place for a family hotliday, immersed in nature.
Carisolo is surrounded by a variety of landscapes where you can find countless nature walks and panths marked for easy excursions on foot or by mountain bike. Its favourable position also makes it the ideal starting point for climbs, both in the Adamello Presanella mountains and the Brenta Dolomites. From a cultural point of view Carisolo hat a lot to offer including the Geopark Visitor’s Centre, the old glass Factory with its museum in LocalitĂ antica Vetreria and various churches including the Parish Church of San Nicolò, the Sanctuary dedicated to the Blessed Virgin, Saint Martin’s hermitage over the village at 1226 m. a.s.l. and SaintStephen’s Church with its cemetery, perched on a granite cliff overlooking the plain. The church has many frescos, dating fron 1519 to 1534, painted by the Baschenis family, including the Dance Macabre, Last Supper and Babtism in the presence of Charlemagne, with the incriptin with tells of the legendary expedition of the Emperoro in the Rendena Valley. Saint. Stephen’s church canbe reached from the village, through a wood of centuries-old chestnut trees, the ideal place for a walk or to relax.
In Carisolo you can also find a modern sport Centre, the palazzetto delo Sport, with its fitness gym, indoor climbing wall, tennis and basketball courts, massage room and sauna. There is also a family friendly bar on site with indoor and outdoor play areas and free wi-fi. The Palazzetto is also the starging point of the winter cross-country skiing track.
