The Municipality of Albergaria-a-Velha is located in the central area of the Aveiro region, in the center of Portugal.
The population is currently around 25 thousand inhabitants and an area of 159 km2, covering six parishes. Albergaria-a-Velha benefits from the proximity to the coast, an extensive area of plains and also a mountainous area of varying altitudes.
This diversity of natural scenery makes Albergaria-a-Velha an attractive city to live and to invest due it is proximity to urban centers, such as, Aveiro, Porto, Coimbra and Viseu. The major areas of investment made by the municipality in the past years were and are in education and formation, economic development and human capital.
