XIV Spanish Congress of Large Families in Donostia / San Sebastián

The 14th National Congress of Large Families will be held on 2 and 3 November in Donostia/San Sebastián at the Kursaal Palace in collaboration with Hirukide, the Federation of Associations of Large Families of the Basque Country. The Congress is being held on this occasion with the motto “ disconnect  as a family ” and its aim is to raise awareness about the need to disconnect from mobile phone use and the use of new technologies and the need to spend more time connecting as a family.

Program:  Speakers include Marc Masip, psychologist and expert in addiction to new technologies, and Catherine L’Ecuyer, doctor in education and psychology and author of several studies on education.

Programme for young people:  People over 13 years of age will be able to take part in Hirugazte, a programme for young people, which will have its own space in the Kursaal, so that they can participate in training talks aimed at them. Regarding the programme for teenagers, the participation of, among others, Marc Masip, psychologist and expert in addiction to new technologies and author of the book Desconect@, is planned. He will talk about the risks of the Internet and will give a practical workshop with them.

Family activities : Various activities are planned for families on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. These include a visit to the Donostia/San Sebastián Aquarium and a boat ride with views of the Concha Bay, which are included in the price of the Congress on Saturday. Price:  The price of the Congress is  €50 per family , including entry, conferences, meals for adults and children, custodial service, and access to children’s activities (0-12 years) at the Congress, Hirugaztes activities for young people (+13 years) and the family activity on Saturday (visit to the Donostia/San Sebastián Aquarium and boat ride around La Concha Bay).

 Accommodation:  To facilitate the attendance of families throughout the weekend, accommodation places (hostels) have been obtained at very good prices:  €55/night  per family, shared with other families or  €75/night  per family, in a non-shared room (both options with breakfast included).
