Trento Family Festival 2022: The centrality of policies on family well-being for the socio-economic development of the territory.

The health emergency caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the humanitarian emergency and the energy emergency produced by the conflict in Ukraine are upsetting the known socio-economic assets and causing serious consequences for the population.

One thing is certain: overcoming the pandemic, energy and military crisis cannot translate into a revival of the previous development model, which no longer exists. These deep and unimaginable crises make it necessary to redefine development policies through the elaboration of new visions of the future with long-term strategies that place the person, the family and social cohesion at the center.

Promotion policies must be implemented aimed at making communities less vulnerable, more capable of answering the questions of their members and of preventing / combating all forms of exclusion and inequality in access to essential services.

Fundamental elements that characterize and qualify the levels of social cohesion of a territory are the quality of social relations, economic well-being, equal opportunities, the level of education and culture, the spread of sporting practice, social inclusion, non-discrimination, attention to the environment, trust. Within this mix of factors generating social cohesion, policies on family well-being enter fully.

The Festival intends to promote the scientific debate with the main institutions and organizations that have developed knowledge and skills on the connections existing between social cohesion policies and family policy: a week of appointments, conferences and seminars to give voice to the cohesion policies activated in regional, national and European level by increasing knowledge and facilitating the exchange of good practices.
