Presentation of ELFAC and the Better Future Festival project at the European Parliament

ELFAC (the European Large Families Confederation) gathers associations of large families from 24 European countries, representing more than 60 million of Europeans.

With this event, we want to convey to the European Parliament the reality in Europe, which is largely unknown and often invisible, of families with three or more children. We want to highlight their difficulties in a European society that does not adequately recognize the value of these children and often discriminates against or penalizes these families by failing to take their specific needs into account. And what ELFAC is doing in the different countries and at the European and international level (ELFAC was granted consutatitve status at ECOSOC in the United Nations).

At the same time, we will present the European Network of Family-Friendly Municipalities and Regions and the experience of the Better Future Festival project, initatives of ELFAC,  which has brought the debate on the European Union’s priorities in four European municipalities from Italy, Poland, Romania, and Spain.

We invite members of the European Parliament and representatives of civil society to attend ,to learn about the reality of large families and to move together towards a more family-friendly Europe.
