With the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic situation, the Croatian Association of Families with Three or More Children (“Families 3plus“) initiated several activities aimed at assisting 3plus families, as well as at understanding that almost overnight the life of all families changed, especially 3plus families.
Within the period from 3 to 8 April, the Association conducted a research on the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on families with children that included parents from more than 2.300 families from all over Croatia.
The results showed that a large number of families, and especially families with more children, experienced a situation where meeting their existential needs comes into question. In every second Croatian family incomes have been reduced. As much as 77.1% of examinees are worried about the future of their family, whereas more than one third of examinees (36.5%) are extremely concerned if they are still going to have employment due to the current emergency situation.
